Valentín Demarco (Olavarría, 1986). Lives and works in Buenos Aires.
He has a degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (2017). Between 2012 and 2020, he attended Diana Aisenberg's group critique seminar. As a teenager he was trained in the silversmithing trade by master Armando Ferreira in Olavarría. Among his most important solo exhibitions are: “¿No soy de aquí?” (Museo Dámaso Arce, 2021), “Patrimonio y algo más…” (Galería Isla Flotante, 2019) and “Indio vago, gaucho matrero, artista contemporáneo” (Espacio Diagonal, 2014). His work has been included in group exhibitions at the Museum of Latin American Art in Buenos Aires, Centro Cultural Haroldo Conti, Ausstellungsraum Klingental (Basel) and Colección Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat. He has been awarded for his work by Fundación Telefónica (2012) and Fondo Nacional de las Artes (Beca Bicentenario, 2016). He won the Revelación award given by Fundación Andreani (2013), the Lucio Fontana Prize from the General Consulate of Italy in Buenos Aires (2014) and Second place in the 11th UADE National Visual Arts Prize (2016). He was selected in the 2017 edition of the Braque Award, from the French Embassy.
